I live a diffractive creative life as a musician, composer, sound designer, performer, media artist, creative producer,
theatre practitioner, dance artist, educator, arts administrator, community arts activator & arts sector consultant.
I have an enduring interest in the processes & approaches needed for healthy & generative collaboration.
What kinds of qualities, relational dynamics & cultural practices - with-in individuals, the intra-personal & in collectives/groups/organisations - will allow us to respond effectively to the unravelling of
post-colonial/post capitalist systems & the nourishing of new/old/regenerative systems
which are woven with care for humans and non-human kin alike?

Creative PractitionerMarianthe Loucataris is a digital media artist, composer, musician, sound designer, theatre practitioner & educator with a passion for building digital infrastructure which nourishes creative connections & collaboration between humans, ecologies & cultural practices.
Her work gives voice to the other-than-human through deep listening & improvisation. Multi-modal digital communication through music, visuals, sounds & spoken word can shift - widen - how we intra-act with each other & our non-human kin. As a person living with a disability & chronic illness, her work explores how ‘ableism’ defines what it means to be ‘an ideal human' & how an animist lens assists in unraveling the delusion of the single, independent, separate self. How can improvising with the other-than-human shift our sense of 'self' & 'other' at this precarious moment - full of individual & collective trouble? Marianthe’s diverse career includes; touring nationally and internationally with indie rock out-fit machine translations, collaborative work with filmmakers, dancers, writers, poets and visual artists and partnering with communities to create meaningful creative processes & events. Recent projects include; creative consultant/artist with The Emergence Network, founded by Bayo Akomolafe, What Are We? , an audio / visual WebWorld partly commissioned for Headquarters Project, a dedicated, disability-led digital space | Ebb & Flow, Virtual Artist in Residence project through the North Midlands Project, working with the community to create an installation and web based work, If Water Could Speak | composition, web design, audio visual material and facilitation of the IWTOTH project 2021 - emerging out of the We Will Dance With Mountains course/festival | composition for Aqueous an audio visual installation for Denmark Festival of Voice | composition and sound design for Forge with dancer choreographer Annalouise Paul | composition and sound design for améliorer fragments a short dance film by John Carberry |
