the story so far ..

Since We Will Dance With Mountains 2020, with Bayo Akomolafe, a little congerie of folx have been communing across the intra-webs - sharing asynchronously, meeting up in mobs of 2, 3 , 4 , 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 , 10, 11, 12 via zoom & other such devices of stone. We began to share multi-modal artefacts of our experiences with the other-than-human & each other.  We have documented our activities over the past years you can find these on the Offerings page under past projects or under the ARTEFACTS menu at the top.

After more conversations than we could begin to map & sharing time together for hours every week in 2023, we are now opening a little crack into our underground sanctuary. You can find information about our gatherings here.

We are not entirely sure what we are doing or why. We have a visceral sense of being 'done' by something other, seized, overcome rather than us 'doing' the do.

Our modus operandi is to priorities the frogs, the dung beetles, the shit, the whispers & wailing of rivers of stone, the ravens, water, snow, the other-than-human, the ineffable patterns which can only be shared through story, poetry, visuals, rhythms & song. 
We are noticing that the habit of looking again & again at what we are inspired to 'do' is generative. Other possibilities make themselves known when we acknowledge that we are not alone - that the other-than-human is moving between us - our landscapes, ecologies, stories, myths, hungry ghosts, frogs, bees, birds, trees, themes, images, sounds, rhythms & melodies are wanting to be noticed & offering us a new/old/sideways way to broaden our experience of being part of the world. Whatever it is we are doing it seems to be less about you, us, I, we, them & more about what is bet-tween us & the stories, poetry, art that is appearing through our willingness to convene & improvise.

Our way of being in the world & together reaches back into a mushy congerie of all of the things, people, ancestors, experiences that have brought each of us to this moment. We honour all that enables us to ken new/old/sideways ways that exceed all of our attempts at causative, biographical maps of how we got here, who we are or what is best to do next, apart from nurture a sense that we are not in, what ever it is, alone.
