the mast of the slave ship sprouts roots and branches and leaves
the sails replaced with the roosting of birds in the tree, flapping in murmurations defying the tyranny of coordinates    
the hull of the dread ship melts away into conversing with molluscs
the tired wood replenished with the gleaming shell of abalone
​replete with aching holes to let the exiled ocean in
